DNI Coats: Cyber-Warfare Capabilities Allow Theft Of US Military Aviation Technology

15 May 2017
Defense editor Dave Majumdar reported in the National Interest’s “The Buzz” blog that Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Daniel Coats delivered testimony to Congress last week stating that Russian and Chinese cyber-warfare capabilities have and likely will continue “to undermine US military and commercial advantage by hacking into U.S. defense industry and commercial enterprises in pursuit of scientific, technical, and business information.” Citing examples of information on US weapons programs already in the hands of adversaries, Coats listed “theft of data on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the F-22 Raptor fighter jet, and the MV-22 Osprey.” (Image Credit: U.S. Navy via Wikimedia Commons)
