Networking and Special Events

The 2019 AIAA AVIATION Forum will bring together over 2,500 participants from across all facets of the aviation enterprise. Dedicated networking breaks, luncheons, and receptions are woven throughout the forum, providing many opportunities to meet new colleagues and build new relationships.

Networking 2

The forum is a great place for us to make contacts, network with our customers and talk about new, innovative ideas. It's important to find the newest and best ways to make our airplanes and our industry better. This is a great opportunity to network and make that happen.—Rob Fuller, Lockheed Martin

Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or receptions in the Exposition Hall; recognition ceremonies and lectures; trips to offsite tour locations; or simply talking with the person next to you in a session or in the hallway, you'll find many opportunities to engage with other participants.

Daily Coffee Breaks

Networking coffee breaks allow even more time for making new contacts, continuing discussions from sessions, visiting the Exposition Hall, or checking emails and voicemails to keep in touch with the office while you are at the forum. Ignite the "Meet"ing

Sunday, 16 June, 1530-1700 hrs

Nothing can be more intimidating than being a newcomer or young person at a conference or event where everyone already knows one another! At this high-energy and fun workshop, attendees will gather tips and techniques on networking and relationship building that will make the event more enjoyable and productive. We’ll focus in on creating an introduction, understanding how to engage with others, playing off the unique networking styles of introverts and extroverts, and some of the absolute do nots of networking. Then the interaction kicks in with an activity designed to foster quick friendships so that throughout the conference the participants will never enter a session or party where they are the stranger!

Meet the Employers

Part 1: Sunday, 16 June, 1700-1830 hrs
Part 2: Wednesday, 19 June, 0900-1000 hrs

This event offers students and young professionals the opportunity to meet AIAA corporate members and government agencies. This is a fun and dynamic environment where students and professionals interact with organizations regarding employment opportunities. In part 1, participating companies/organizations will present a brief organizational overview and opportunities available, then have follow-on discussions with the attendees. Organizations will host a table and attendees will switch every 10 minutes. Part 2 is an opportunity for students and attendees to meet with any of the employers that they didn’t have a chance to talk with on Sunday evening, and for any employers that could not participate in Sunday’s session to meet with prospective employees.
